AlphaGraphics and Junior Achievement Worldwide: Business Basics for Budding Entrepreneurs
Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide seeks to educate and inspire young people to succeed in a global economy. With its headquarters in Colorado, USA, JA reaches approximately 8 million students worldwide every year.
Using age-appropriate curricula, JA reaches out to local students, teaching them how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers. JA programs serve grades 1-12, focusing on the key content areas of entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy.
Junior Achievement programming relies on volunteers to convey their real-life business acumen with young people. So what better mentor than an AlphaGraphics business centre owner! AlphaGraphics owners all across the U.S. are stepping up to the challenge––working with JA to share their professional successes, challenges and know-how with community kids. Programs are tailored to the needs of each classroom or student group; click here to read about specific AG/JA projects and opportunities.
By partnering with JA, AlphaGraphics volunteers bring relevancy and reality into the classroom, giving life to the importance of what students are learning in school. JA offers turnkey programs that make it easy and fun for volunteers to positively impact children in the communities where they work and live. Of course the benefits run both ways.
“Junior Achievement is a great way for business professionals to get involved in schools,” says AlphaGraphics Business Centre owner and JA volunteer Jodi Pierce. “Kids are a tough audience. If you can interest kids in what you are talking about, then you can certainly interest clients.”
