Employee appreciation and wellbeing using personalised gift boxes

As part of the Random Acts of Kindness social trend, many employers have been championing employee appreciation – particularly since COVID.

As the government instructed many people to work from home, employers and businesses looked at new ways to show employees that they cared about their wellbeing while spreading kindness during challenging times.

Boxes were, and still are a great way to do this.

At the beginning of the first lockdown, we sent our own home workers care packages which included a variety of personalised and generic gifts that were designed to help boost morale.

The boxes included cosy socks, coasters, home-office door hangers, sweet treats, and stationery, and the feedback we got was fantastic:

“I was blown away to receive a surprise box full of goodies from you yesterday!! It’s such a kind and thoughtful idea, and I absolutely love it! I hope you and your families are all keeping well.”

“I have just received a lovely parcel from Alphagraphics full of all sorts of goodies and a really nice card! Thank you so much – it does make me feel part of the Alphagraphics team even though I am at home.”

“Thank you so so much for my wonderful goody box!! It was such a lovely surprise and gesture, and it has made my week – thank you!”

Similarly, some of our clients used a box to promote employee wellbeing and kindness, like Darlington Building Society’s Random Act of Kindness box last year.

But spreading kindness and promoting wellbeing doesn’t just have to be limited to your employees. Replicating employee appreciation gift boxes for your clients or customers can be a great way to re-engage, spark conversation, and show gratitude.

Last year we sent a handful of clients some appreciation boxes that included personalised mugs, colouring-in books and pencils, herb seed cards for planting, herbal teas and sweet treats.

These boxes opened up conversations with our clients who we were looking to re-engage with after several lockdowns and, like our employee appreciation box, received great feedback:

“Feel very lucky to have received one of these lovely boxes from AlphaGraphics today. Beautifully printed packaging that was Carbon Offset via the Forest Carbon scheme. Such a thoughtful surprise.Thank you!”

“Thank you for the amazing box of postivi-tea – it really brightened our day and we love the creativity.”

“Thank you so much for the amazing box that arrived today! Such a lovely treat – and has helped me ingratiate myself with my new colleagues!

“Everyone is very impressed, so I’ve been using it to get the word out about you guys in case any other departments might need your services!”

All boxes we produce can have their carbon offset through the Forest Carbon scheme, which we support with our materials supplier, meaning we’re kinder to the planet, too! You can find out more about this scheme on our Sustainability page here
